Use sturdy mechanical traps placed along runways and near entry gaps to stop rodents in crawl spaces during remodels.

Select snap traps or multiple catch live traps depending on whether you need immediate reduction or catch and release. Use fresh bait that maximizes scent and appeal such as peanut butter mixed with a small piece of oatmeal cookie, canned tuna or sardines which are high in oil and odor, or a soft cheese that holds on the trigger plate. Set traps with the trigger facing the wall and place them every ten to twelve feet along the perimeter where droppings or grease marks indicate travel routes.
