Right size the pump tank to ensure stable doses and include alarm capacity so the system can recover from short disruptions. Commit to a written maintenance schedule for filter service and emitter flushing and train occupants to avoid putting fats, solids and nonbiodegradables into the system. Place lines within the active biologic soil, add a shallow sand or amended zone if native soil is poor, or use an upstream treatment step to improve effluent before dispersion.
